🌼 Everything is an experiment

If it's just an experiment, I can try new things with ease.

Hello, apple cider Mamas,

This week is a shorty, because I spent all my juice on The 2023 Local Pumpkin Patch Guide. It’s also kinda short because this seems to be the another quiet week before the storm of fall and holiday festival season.

I wonder if I did the right thing, spending so much time on a freakin’ guide to pumpkin patches of all things but I realize this question is actually just needless worrying and I return to one of my favorite mantras: everything is an experiment.

If everything is just an experiment, the results don’t mean anything personal about me. I’m simply collecting data.

If everything is an experiment, I can look at the results of my actions with clear eyes. I don’t have to make a judgment about the results.

If everything is an experiment, I can try new things with ease. I can always change my approach.

If everything is an experiment, I can be in a state of neutral observation. I notice the patterns that emerge, and stay—or alter—my course to my benefit.

This newsletter? An experiment.
My parenting? Daily experiments.
Household management? Weekly experiments.
Getting my toddler to try new foods? Extremely experimental.

What is working for you and what isn’t? What variables can you adjust to make life simpler, easier, richer? What would it be like if it wasn’t so serious, and instead, was just an experiment?

With a labcoat, an eye twitch, and a maniacal giggle,
